Maybe it's just me, but as I see people jumping in and out the Paternoster—an elevator made of chained cars that never stop—I can only see myself being crushed between the car and the floor. Or losing a foot. Or some fingers. It's terrifying.
This one is the largest in the world, located in the Arts Tower at the University of Sheffield.
Are these allowed in the United States? Unlikely, as they probably contravene six hundred state and Federal laws. Not to talk about the storm of lawsuits they would generate. Like our own Brent Rose just said: "it's a big old-person trash-compactor." [Tested via Twitter]
