Artist Turns Tree Stumps Into Beautiful Children's Toys [Wish You Were Here]:
Most people see tree stumps as nothing more than an eyesore, or an excuse to play with dynamite to removing it. But designer Hilla Shamia sees more. In fact, looking at this beautiful rocking horse she created, we can't help but wonder if that's why mother nature created trees in the first place.
Unless you've got a massive chainsaw and the stump from a well-aged tree in your backyard this isn't exactly an easy DIY project. Which is unfortunate because we can't seem to find a place that sells these lovely creations, which, like a snowflake, are sure to all be different since every tree has its own unique ring pattern.
