Since buildings are already engineered to be strong and—you know—not collapse, suspending even the heaviest of chandeliers from the ceiling is no problem. That's to say there's no rhyme or reason why a hanging light needs to be made from lightweight carbon fiber, except that it's just plain beautiful.
Designed by Asobi for a new furniture and lighting brand called Tokio, these lights can be ordered in 4, 6, and 12 LED configurations that spread out in all directions like a spider's web. They have both a highly-engineered and a very organic look to them, and it goes without saying that they're also both energy efficient and incredibly expensive given you can custom order even larger configurations.
